2017 ALDOT Safety Summit

The primary focus of the Summit is the recently updated 2017 Alabama Strategic Highway Safety Plan (3rd edition). Participants will hear about the SHSP and how it was prepared, review the State’s progress in reaching our goal of lower fatalities and exchange ideas regarding safety culture, groups most at risk of being involved in traffic crashes, and infrastructure and operations-related safety improvements. The Summit will include moderated panels and sessions on topics such as enhancing safety culture, leveraging engineering and enforcement partnerships, and utilizing emerging technologies. Participants will brainstorm specific action steps Alabama’s safety partners can take to implement the emphasis areas and strategies in the 2017 SHSP. Serious and fatal accidents cannot be prevented without the combined efforts and dedication of the entire traffic safety community. Whatever your traffic safety discipline, there is something to be learned at the 2017 ALDOT Safety Summit.
